8 July 2009 Files submitted here were extracted from time series of 105 years (or 1260 months) covering the period 1901-2005. That is, the yearly data files provide 6 annual timesteps and the monthly data files provide 72 consecutive months starting from January 1. Header files attached may help with georeferencing or for transferring data to ARC/GIS. Something messed up with the extraction program when applied to the monthly data so that the longitude units are reported as "Mont". In all cases, the lat lon coordinate units are misleading. They are in integer units ranging from 1 to 232 (west to east) and 120 to 1 (north to south), representing 0.5 degree gridcells. The lower left corner coordinates are provided in the .hdr files, given as 168 deg W and 25 deg N. These are the gridcell CORNER not the gridcell centre! The time steps reported in the netCDF files are not dated. They simply run from 1 to 6, representing 2000 to 2005 for the annual data and 1 to 72, representing Jan 2000 to December 2005 for the monthly data. Any questions/comments please let me know.
